SCAPES PREMIER - 2006

SCAPES

Tonight you will experience the casual, step inside the intimate, discover the fearful and violent, stand along side the alienated, and perhaps grab onto the grace that binds us together as humans.

featuring works by Robert Guitron, Bonnie Merrill, Josie Moseley, Eric Skinner and John Smith

"...you cannot tear your eyes away." - Oregonian
An intense and emotionally charged stagescape of movement and music! Thirteen dancers, four choreographers, 3 composers, 100 yards of red silk and bungees create an evening to remember. “Scapes” is built around the thought provoking theme of human relationships featuring "In Formal", "Beside Me", "MorningTide", "Red Tied" and "Solomente" . Through the dialogue of movement, the audience is treated to an artistic experience of struggle, pain, unity, and grace.

Polaris Dance Theatre, led by award winning choreographer Robert Guitron, creates bold and emotionally resonant works which are performed by a company of thirteen danseurs extraordinaire! Guitron brings a Latin passion to his choreography and staging of big ensemble pieces and touching intimate solo works. His musicality and theatricality combine with his unique artistic voice to create work that leaves the
audience breathless.
