PAYMENTS | CREDIT CARDS | REFUNDS
» Tuition payment is due at the time of registration, or can be paid on a payment plan. Payment plans are to be worked out with the School Director.
» If a student must withdraw from a class, camp or workshop, Polaris Dance Theatre may give a partial refund prior to the class, camp or workshop beginning.
» No refunds will be given for any withdrawals once the class, camp or workshop has begun.
» Class credit expires 12 months after distributed date.
MISSED CLASSES | MAKE-UPS
» Missed Classes: No refunds will be given for missed classes.
» Makeups: Makeups must happen within the same term of classes missed. Students must schedule the makeup class with the School Director first.
DAY CARE FEE
» Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to babysit children before or after class. Parents who drop their children off unsupervised more than 10 minutes early or pick their children up more than 10 minutes late will be charged a day care fee of $10 per quarter hour.
END-OF-SESSION PERFORMANCES
» Each sessions offers an end-of-class performance for students enrolled in one or more classes (excluding career track and adult classes). Performances are not mandatory.
» Contact School Director for details on enrollment, including end-of-session performance dates, which classes participate, additional fees, and more.

» Polaris Dance Theatre does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited too, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services to students and others. We are committed to providing an all inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, clients, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
SUSTAINABILITY
» We are excited to announce that we’re silver certified under the Sustainability at Work program. Please help us maintain this, and work towards a gold standard by bringing a reusable water bottle to class, and recycling at our facility. Consider warming up before your class by biking to Polaris! There’s a bike rack available on the south side of the parking lot, on NW 18th.
» Food is not permitted in the studios when the studios are being used for classes, rehearsals, auditions or performances.
» Beverages other than water are not permitted in the studios when the studios are being used for classes, rehearsals, auditions or performances.
» Street shoes are not permitted in the studios.
» All cell phones must be turned off during class.
» Smoking is not permitted anywhere in or around the building.
» Photography and videography are not permitted anywhere in the building without prior written permission from the director.
» No instructor is permitted to drive any student home.
» Approved and assigned parents or guardians need to come into the lobby to claim their child. No child is permitted to leave the building for any reason without permission of parent or guardian in advance. Minor students must alert instructor or staff member prior to exiting building.
» No student or person/s are allowed in the studios without a staff member or instructor present.
» Please remain in the lobby until the previous class exits studio.
» Friends and family are not allowed to watch student class without advance notice and permission. There will be assigned viewing days where this will be permitted.
» We share bathrooms between dancers, students, visitors and staff. Please be quiet and courteous and pick up after yourselves.
ALL CLASSES
» No jewelry or large earrings. No perfume or cologne. Hair must be neat and pulled away from face.
» Leotard, tights, unitard, leggings or jazz pants with fitted tank/shirt and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs.
» Dancers are allowed to wear a secondary layer of clothing at the beginning of class to stay warm. These articles of clothing must be removed after the first few minutes of class and/or upon instructor’s directions.
» Black sole shoes and oil-based soles are not permitted on dance floor for any reason. No street shoes allowed on the studio’s Marley flooring at any time. “Street shoes” are any shoe/footwear that has been worn outside the studio, on the street, home, school, work, etc. The dirt and abrasive microscopic particles do serious damage to the Marley flooring, rendering it dangerous for the dancers.
» It is recommended that boys age 12 and up wear a dance belt.
AERIAL CLASSES
» Leggings, fitted shorts, footless tights with a leotard, fitted tank/shirt, and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs. All classes are bare foot. Hair must be neat and out of face. Absolutely NO jewelry.
BALLET CLASSES
» Leotard, tights, leggings with fitted tank/shirt and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs. Pink canvas or leather ballet slippers are worn free of rosin and dirt. No rosin is used or allowed on the Marley floors, as it will damage the floor. Hair must be neat and out of face, ideally in a bun.
CONTEMPERORY CLASSES
» Leggings, fitted shorts, footless tights with a leotard, fitted tank/shirt, and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs. All classes are bare foot. Socks or slippers may be worn with teacher’s permission. Hair must be neat and out of face.
HIP-HOP CLASSES
» Loose, comfortable, clean and appropriate attire required. Jazz shoes or sneakers recommended. *All shoes need to be clean and worn in the dance studio only. Once they have been worn out as street shoes, they may no longer be worn in the studio. Black sole shoes and oil-based soles are not permitted on the dance floor. Hair must be neat and out of face.
JAZZ CLASSES
» Leggings, fitted shorts, footless tights with a leotard, fitted tank/shirt, and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs. All classes are done with Jazz shoes or socks. Hair must be neat and out of face.
SENIOR DANCE
» Comfortable athletic/dance wear. Tennis shoes are optional. *All shoes need to be clean and worn in the dance studio only. Once they have been worn out as street shoes, they may no longer be worn in the studio. Black sole shoes and oil-based soles are not permitted on the dance floor.
TAP CLASSES
» Leggings, fitted shorts, footless tights with a leotard, fitted tank/shirt, and other suitable dance attire must be clean and free of holes and runs. Tap shoes are not required, but recommended for best results! Hair must be neat and out of face.
TINY TOES CLASSES
» Leotard and ballet slippers, or stretch pants, T-shirt, socks. Dresses, skirts and sparkly things are welcome too. Hair must be neat and out of face.
